What Are Happy Visits?
Happy Visits at Big Lick Veterinary Services are scheduled as 30-minute technician appointments. These visits provide your pet with an opportunity to have positive experiences at the vet office that desensitize them to handling, exams, etc. The goal of Happy Visits is to decrease your pet’s fear and anxiety levels during both routine, and non-routine, veterinary care.
How to Prepare
- Bring a hungry pet! Food is usually our greatest motivator so a hungry pet is more willing to try new things for food! Skip your pet’s breakfast and bring their food with them to the visit.
- If your pet is not food motivated, bring their favorite toy!

- Laying restraint and belly rubs
Your pet is unique! Each visit will be catered to their tolerance that day. Progression through each visit can be altered to best support your pet!
