NEWS
Welcome Dr. Soffin to Big Lick Vet!
The Big Lick Vet family has been blessed with a new veterinarian. Dr. Sadye Soffin joined the veterinary team at Big Lick Vet on July 1, 2024 and we can’t wait for all of our clients to meet her! Dr. Soffin is originally from Richmond, VA. She received her bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech, as well as her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Soffin is excited to be staying in Southwest Virginia to practice. Her favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is supporting the connection between clients and their animals through medical and behavioral education. Dr. Soffin strives to work with individual needs of patients to lower their stress levels at the clinic. She lives in the Cave Spring area with her partner, Erik, and their dog Rory. Outside of work she enjoys reading, crocheting, traveling, and hiking. We know you and your pets will love Dr. Soffin just as much as we do and hope you’ll join us in giving her a warm welcome to the practice and to the Roanoke Valley!
Veterinary Assistant and Vet Tech student Jacob Completes Both Fear Free and Low Stress Handling Certifications
We’re excited to share that Vet Assistant Jacob is now both Fear Free certified and Low-Stress Handling certified. Not only did Jacob complete both of these certifications, he completed them while working full time and going to Vet Tech school full time – truly impressive! Jacob’s commitment to continuing to learn, grow, and elevate his skills is inspiring and we’re lucky to have such a dedicated professional like him on our team. These certifications will provide him with even more tools and knowledge to address different levels of fear, anxiety, and stress in patients, improve client communication, and increase workplace safety. Way to go Jacob! We’re so proud of you.
